The Operation Theater Technology (OTT) program at Lifeline Paramedical Institute is designed to train students in the intricate workings of a surgical environment. Operation Theater Technicians are critical members of the healthcare team who work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure that surgeries are conducted smoothly and safely.
Through our comprehensive curriculum and hands-on clinical training at Lifeline Hospital, students learn how to prepare the operating room, manage surgical instruments, maintain a sterile environment, and assist during various surgical procedures.
Core Responsibilities You Will Learn
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Mastering techniques to sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a completely sterile operating room environment.
- Surgical Equipment Management: Setting up, checking, and operating complex surgical machinery and life-support monitors.
- Pre-Operative Care: Preparing patients for surgery and assisting the anesthesia team.
- Intra-Operative Assistance: Anticipating the needs of the surgeon and handing over the correct instruments during the procedure.
- Post-Operative Handling: Safely transferring patients to the recovery room and organizing instruments for post-surgery cleaning.
